Willie Talau

Another Belmore success story.  Was first spotted playing Metropolitan cup for Moorebank as a raw-boned 21-year-old.  The New Zealand-born Talau was given a one-way ticket to Australia by his dad for his 21st birthday to try his luck in the big league.  But luck had nothing to do with his emergence as a ket player.  Since debuting in Round 17 (1988), Willie has had an immediate impact.   The kiwi has monstered smaller opponents with his lethal fend and turn of speed giving the Bulldogs a much more potent look in the backline.  Despite his tender age, has kept a very level head and hasn't been overawed by the big occasion.
